Art Exchange, 5.00 – 6.00pm

Join Art Exchange’s director, Jess Twyman for a talk about our forthcoming public programme.

Throughout the Autumn we will investigate how artists approach issues of conflict – from the poetic but political artworks of Mona Hatoum, to the direct actions of Syrian activists. Art and protest are further developed through showcasing two mobile museums from Banky’s Disamland – Jimmy Cauty’s RIOT tour will bring us his Aftermath Dislocation Principle, which reveals a post-apocalyptic world where only the polics have survived, while Gavin Grindon brings us the Museum of Cruel Designs, an exhibition of things that were made to hurt you. We usually think of designers as a progressive force for improving our world. But design is often used to force obedience on behalf of capitalism and the state.

A chance to find out more about the conversations that matter at Art Exchange. Refreshments and snacks served – please join us!

Admission Free.
