Film: Humanity Rising
Travelling through Calais, Lebanon and Greece, ‘Humanity Rising’ witnesses the experiences of refugees, volunteers, politicians and local citizens in the greatest humanitarian disaster the world has faced in 60 years.
This film has been produced by Humanity’s Heart, a charity working to raise the profile of volunteers working on the ground, reminding us of personal narratives beyond the anonymised newspaper headlines.
The screening of ‘Humanity Rising’ will be followed by Q& A with Tazeen Ahmed, founder of Humanity’s Heart, Maria Wilby from Colchester Refugee Action and Dr Carlos Gigoux, Centre for Migration Studies at the University of Essex.
The film will be screened in LTB 8, at 6:30-7:30pm, followed by Q&A
