Rosie Pedlow and Joe King: Strange Lights
The starting point for this exhibition is the tale of a winter’s night in 1980, when US servicemen witnessed ‘unexplained lights’ in Rendlesham Forest, Suffolk. The incident quickly became Britain’s most famous UFO mystery with abounding rumours of conspiracies and cover-ups. Thirty years later, artists Joe King and Rosie Pedlow were inspired to visit the forest in search of similarly ‘inexplicable’ events.
Maintaining a balance between celebration and criticality, their subsequent reflections on a ‘plurality of worlds’ are presented in this mixed-media and video installation, Strange Lights.
