Placing art at its core, Art Exchange is a space where art, artists and audiences meet. Our programme of exhibitions, talks and events creates a platform for ideas to be exchanged, stories to be told and connections made.

Sited within the historic Wivenhoe Park, painted by John Constable in 1816, we share the parkland with the University of Essex, and are inspired by the intellectually curious audience that makes up the campus community, while the research and study around us feeds into our programme of talks, films and debate. Combined with our art classes, workshops and outreach activity, we offer ways for everyone to get involved and enjoy great art.

Art Exchange is run by curator Jess Twyman, working alongside Dr Sarah Demelo to showcase the University’s art collections. We are supported by Assistant Curator Giselle Giron.

Our Gallery Experience Assistants Matt Bowman, Marina Cusi Sanchez and Mawadah Nofal are ready to welcome you and share their knowledge and enthusiasm for our artworks and activities.
