Glasgow based artist Rachel Maclean’s work slips in and out of history and into imagined futures, creating hyper-glowing, artificially saturated visions that are both nauseatingly positive and cheerfully grotesque.
Join Rachel Maclean as she discusses first-hand experience about her ideas and processes about her lattest video-installation, Over the Rainbow (2013).
Maclean has exhibited across the UK and internationally since graduating with honours from Edinburgh College of Art in 2009. Recent solo exhibitions include: Zabludowicz Collection invites: Rachel Maclean, London, 2014; I HEART SCOTLAND, at the Edinburgh Printmakers; and Quick Child, Run! at Trade Gallery, Nottingham. In 2013, Maclean received the Margaret Tait Award. She produced Over the Rainbow during a 6-month residency at The Banff Centre in Canada.
Chair: Marta Bermejo Sarmiento.
