Artist Aaron Angell joins Art Exchange Artistic Director, Jess Twyman, to discuss the themes and ideas behind Plumb Poltergeist, an exhibition that developed out of conversations with artist and collaborator Ian Law.
Aaron Angell studied at the Slade School of Art and is founder of Troy Town Art Pottery. His work is concerned with hobbyist cultures, non-canonical history and marginal methods of image making.
Troy Town Art Pottery is a radical and psychedelic ceramic workshop for artists in London that was set up in response to the increased levels of artists working in ceramics in London, without access to kiln processes. Angell’s ambition is to create a non-craft specific workshop for artists to be able to work with this medium.
Born in 1987, Aaron Angell lives and works in London. He has exhibited at Tate St Ives, Rob Tufnell Gallery, Studio Voltaire and has a solo exhibition at Kuntsverein in Freiburg, Germany opening soon.
