Artists’ Biographies
Annie-Marie Akussah b. 1995 in Accra, Ghana. Lives and works in London, UK.
Annie-Marie Akussah’s work focuses on inter-African diasporic stories. Documentation plays a key role in the way she represents her subjects and exploration of the world of ‘expatriates’. Her paintings are an assemblage; portraits are mixed with found objects that respond to each subject’s context and personal history. Through her work, she attempts to expose the construction of a diasporic identity and the difficulties of belonging.
She has exhibited extensively, including the Bamako Encounters – African Biennale of Photography (2022). Her work was featured in New Contemporaries (2018), and she was selected for a residency in THREAD, at Senegal Africa (2019).
Daniel Greenfield-Campoverde b. 1984 in Caracas, Venezuela. Lives and works in London, UK.
Daniel Greenfield-Campoverde’s work, mostly video, painting, and installation, revolves around themes of identity and memory that generates powerful reflections upon notions of belonging and home.
