Come along and join Jess Twyman for a lunch time tour of Open Your Eyes.
We will explore the ideas behind the artworks on show in this thought-provoking exhibition. Each of the artists focuses on moments in Africa and Europe’s entangled colonial history, as they attempt to make visible what is often overlooked by creating a new space of their own – where dialogue about the future can flourish – and we can speculate about all kinds of possibilities for the future.
This exhibition and its public programme are born out of the research and teaching of academics at the University of Essex working towards decolonising the curriculum.
As it’s Christmas, they’ll be mulled wine and mince pies!
