THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL THE SPRING.
LOOK OUT FOR UPDATES!
We are delighted to be joined by Larry Achiampong and David Blandy for the screening of their ‘Finding Fanon’ series of 3 short films. Through their collaborative practice they draw on a shared love of gaming – using the platform of Grand Theft Auto 5 to explore ideas of race, racism and decolonisation.
Finding Fanon is inspired by the lost plays of Frantz Fanon (1925-61), a politically radical humanist whose practice dealt with the psychology of colonisation and the consequences of decolonisation. By examining their communal and personal heritage, David Blandy and Larry Achiampong explore how these societal issues affect our relationships within an age of new technology, popular culture and globalisation.
After screening the 3 short films that make up Finding Fanon, filmmakers Larry Achiampong and David Blandy will join us for Q&A about their work.
Admission Free.
