A talk that expands on themes explored in our current exhibition.  Writer and researcher Antony Penrose, Lee Miller’s son,  offers unique insights into the extraordinary war-time photographs on show at Art Exchange.  Lee Miller was the only woman in combat photojournalism in Europe during the World War II and witnessed D Day landings +20, the liberation of Paris, the Russian/American link up in Torgau and was one of the first to arrive at Buchenwald and Dachau concentration camps. Her photographs function not only as historical records but as powerful images in their own right that unforgettably sear into the memory.

The talk will be followed by a drinks reception at Art Exchange.
