Come along for a guided tour with Ruth Raymer, psychogeographer, writer, thinker and dreamer.

Taking a playful and inventive approach to exploring the environment, Ruth will led you on a mile-long adventure along the sunny coast of Jaywick, sharing observations, stories, facts and fiction as she goes, with games and activities along the way.

Resorting to the Coast
Jaywick Martello Tower: 31 August 12-4pm

MY SEASIDE MILE takes place during a whole afternoon of seaside entertainment from The Grand Theatre of Lemmings, as part of Resorting to the Coast, a two-year project highlighting the historic seaside heritage of Tendring’s coastal towns.

12:00 Resorting to the Coast talk by local historian, Norman Jacobs, ‘Tendring Seaside Heritage and Clown Bertram’ 

13:00-16.00  The Grand Theatre of Lemmings entertains with their spectacular interpretation of Tendring’s seaside heritage!  Activities, which will take place on the hour, include comedy, magic, music and a flea circus! There will also be hula hooping and ‘Splat-the-Rat’ in traditional seaside wears. The Smallest Theatre in the World will also be there to collect audio memories and Clown Bertram’s talent will be honoured by the Lemmings’ tribute to this witty children’s entertainer from Clacton’s past.
