Join curator Jess Kenny for a tour of Realism in Rawiya exhibition. Rawiya, meaning ‘she who tells a story’ in Arabic, are the first all-female photographic collective to emerge from the Middle East. The Arab Spring, life in Gaza, graffiti in Egypt and Saudi women who desire to sing solo on stage; these are among the stories revealed through this exhibition of their work.
Jess will take you on a tour of the show, telling the stories behind the photographs, as documented by photographers Myriam Abdelaziz (Cairo), Tanya Habjouqa (East Jerusalem), Delia Khamissy (Beirut) and Newsha Tavakolian (Tehran).
