06.12.2016

6.30-7.30pm

Art Exchange

admission free

Lakeside Theatre, 6.30-7.30pm

In a dialogue that expands on issues raised in Sarah Wood’s film ‘Boat People’ currently on show at Art Exchange, the artful Ali Smith and the filmic Sarah Wood will conjure up the possibilities of how we respond to issues of migration in a precariously changing world. Ali Smith will read reading from her latest book, ‘Autumn’, followed by a screening of ‘Boat People’ (19 mins). Their conversation will be followed by Q&A.

Sarah Wood is an artist filmmaker. She works with the found object, particularly the still and moving image, as an act of reclamation and re-interrogation.

Ali Smith (CBE) is the author of several novels, plays and several collections of short stories. In 2013 she collaborated with her partner Wood on Shire, an illustrated collection of short stories. Her novel How to be Both (2014) was awarded the Goldsmiths Prize and the Costa Novel award.

Admission is free and there’s no need to book. The Lakeside Theatre will be open from 6pm onwards. All welcome.
