Join curator Jess Twyman for a tour of our 60th anniversary exhibition, which celebrates the University of Essex’s Brutalist concrete architecture.
Find out more about the ideas and inspiration behind the architectural models, plans and drawings on show in the gallery – and how they align to the founding Vice Chancellor’s visionary academic plan. Jess will then take us on a short tour of Phases 1 and 2 of the 1964-68 campus buildings.
We will focus on the monumental and striking ‘jewels in the crown’ of our architecture, including the Library and the Hex, as well as the interconnecting squares that bring campus together.
Admission Free – all welcome.
