The Political Body
These extraordinary posters were produced during China’s Cultural Revolution (1966 – 1976) as part of a campaign by the Communist Party to present ideological and idealised visions of Chinese society to the masses. Beautifully executed by professionally trained artists, the posters provide a powerful insight into China’s social, political and cultural recent past, during a turbulent period in the country’s history.
This exhibition is on loan from the University of Westminster’s Collection of Posters of the Cultural Revolution.
