A documentary film by artists Janez Janša, Janez Janša & Janez Janša that examines the performance of identity inherit to our names.

A name. Everybody has one. In this film, individuals, artists and academics from all over the world share their thoughts about the meaning and purpose of one’s name from both private and public perspectives.

The documentary comments on the artist’s work ‘Troika’, currently on display as part of My Fiction is Real, by exploring the relationship between name and identity in wider social, political and cultural frames. After changing their names to that of the Prime Minister of Slovenia, Janez Janša, the three artists blurred the boundaries between their lives and art in numerous and unforeseen ways, and provoked a variety of interpretations among the general public and in art circles in Slovenia and beyond.

Venue: Room 4.722 (See map)

Length: 60 mins.

Part of the My Fiction Is Real events programme.
